A Message from our International Secretary… Ailsa
Hi! I’m Ailsa, the International Secretary. I’m a 3rd year Environmental Science student from Scotland!
Wherever in the world you come from, the CU would love to have you! We’re richer for our diversity.
International welcome week is a great opportunity for arriving students to make friends and have fun before the start of term. We have events from the 20th-25th September, further details coming soon on our socials! @leedsunicu
We collaborate with Transformation Leeds, are hosting Explore international this semester…
Living Room is a global café ran by Transformations Leeds and the Christian Unions in Leeds. Its open to all international students, whether you are Christian or not. Living Room is a place for Internationals to make friends and discover other cultures, including British culture! Whether we do a bring and share dinner, or a Ceilidh dance, or a British Comedy night, or “Light Night” (a festival unique to Leeds), or a day trip, Living Room will be your home away from home. We run on Tuesdays 7:30-9:30pm every week in term time, and some Saturdays too. If you want to find out more you can send a message to @transformationsleeds on Instagram or @Thelivingroom on Facebook.
Explore groups are online groups geared to international students meeting on different days and times so wherever you are in the world there is a group for you! Its an opportunity for you to experience Christianity for yourself through videos and a zoom discussion group.
