As a Christian Union, we want to create a space where everyone can honestly engage with the big questions of life, humanity, meaning and faith. Through these big question events we wanted to give space to consider and discuss the subject of connection and see how the hope found in Christian faith fits into them. Tune into our live streams on our youtube from 8-9pm. There’ll be a short talk, and the chance to ask your questions anonymously on Sli.do. Whoever you are, and whatever you believe, you’re welcome to join us.
Connection 5/10
How can we feel connected and what does our longing for connection tell us about what it means to be human
In an age of Zoom, social-distancing, and self-isolation, we have all been confronted with our need for human connection. But how can we find true connection? And what does our desire for connection tell us about who we are as human beings?
Science 26/10
Hasn’t science disproved Christianity, faith and our need for God?

Doctor, author, and research scientist John Wyatt will be speaking. John is Emeritus Professor of Neonatal Paediatrics, Ethics & Perinatology at University College London as well as a senior researcher at the Faraday Institute for Science and Religion in Cambridge.

Religion 16/11
Whats Christianity all about? Are we better off without it?
Founded 2000 years ago, based on a Jewish carpenter who died, and recorded in an old book. But what do Christians actually believe? Is this an outdated fairy-tale promoting ignorant opinions that we’d be better off without?
Rebecca McLaughlin will be speaking. Rebecca holds a PHD in Medieval literature, speaks worldwide, and is the author of the best-selling book: ‘Confronting Christianity: 12 Hard Questions for the World’s Largest Religion’.
